What AspirantGoal does, screen by screen.

The app follows the order you would use it in: set up an exam, plan the weeks, study with a timer, look back at what you did, and keep it all safe.

Setting up

Choose the exam, then the papers and topics you will work through.

  • Exams, phases and syllabus

Pick a country and an exam, or make your own goal. If the exam has phases or papers, choose yours, and leave the date as "To be announced" if it isn't out yet.

Then start from a syllabus package, which you can edit, or type in your own topics. Both work the same way afterwards.

  • Syllabus Tracking

The syllabus is a tree. A subject opens into main topics, then subtopics, then points, and each point has its own progress. You can add, rename and archive topics, import a syllabus and search it, and the sessions and notes stay with the topic they belong to.

Every point can carry its own stages. In the UPSC Prelims package they are Foundation, Core Study, PYQ Analysis, MCQ Practice, Revision and Topic Test, and other exams and subjects can offer different ones.

  • Stages and rounds

Every topic has stages, the kinds of work you do on it. The stage names follow the exam and the subject, so a package might offer self study, practice questions, past papers (PYQ) and revision, or labels of its own. A round is another pass through one stage, so Self Study R2 is your second time through self study. The other stages keep their own count.

If you finished a topic before you started using the app, you can mark that stage done. It records a date and a note, and adds no minutes.

Planning and studying

Break the targets into weeks and days, then study the task in front of you.

  • Roadmap, Month, Week and Today

A 20 hour target for a subject can give 12 hours to this month, 4 to this week and 45 minutes to today. These are the same hours at four zoom levels, not four separate totals.

A task can have a start time, or just a length and a day. If you miss something, the unfinished part moves to a new day with its topic, stage and round, and you can undo the move.

How one target becomes a day, step by step

  • Focus

Study Timer counts down and Study Stopwatch counts up. Both save the exam, subject, topic, stage and round with the session.

Quick Timer and Quick Stopwatch are for other activities. They don't count toward subject progress or your streak, and pauses and breaks are never counted as study time.

Focus and Strict Mode in detail

  • Strict ModePro

Choose the apps you need during a session. A floating timer stays on top of them, and Timer Lock stops you ending a countdown early.

It needs three Android permissions: usage access, display over other apps and notification access. The app explains each one before it sends you to Android's settings.

  • Reminders and alarms

Each task can have no reminder, a notification or an alarm. You can add up to four extra notification times, and there are 15 sounds to choose from.

The alarm rings for a minute, stays quiet for three and repeats until you dismiss it or start studying. Snooze adds five minutes.

Finding things again

Look back at what you did, and find the note you wrote three weeks ago.

  • AG NoteCanvas

Every session has its own canvas for text, photos, PDFs and voice. Type, or record a voice note that sits in the text with a play button. Open a photo or a PDF page in the pen tool, highlight a line in yellow, green, blue or pink, and record an audio pin on that spot, so the note carries why the line matters. Pins can be moved, and each photo and PDF shows how many it holds. It autosaves, and you can press Save too.

PDFs can be up to 100MB on Pro, or 50MB each with a Coin Pass.

What to put in a session note

  • AG VaultPro

Open a topic and see every note you made for it, in syllabus order. Vault follows the same tree as Syllabus Tracking, filters by stage and shows how many notes each row has, and a note on a point also counts on the topic above it. If a topic has several sessions, pick the one you want by date.

  • History and Subject Progress

History lists your sessions with their round, length and note. Subject Progress shows planned hours, studied time and syllabus coverage for a week, a month, a year or any range you pick.

Each of those is its own number. Studied time doesn't turn into coverage on its own.

  • Preparation JourneyPro

A statistics page and a timeline for the whole preparation: time studied, sessions, active days, how your time splits across subjects, how you did against your plan, and any practice questions, answers or mock tests you logged.

It describes what you did. It doesn't predict an exam score.

Keeping it safe

Habit features, backup, and ways to move things around.

  • Streaks, grace and coins

Time from the Study Timer and Stopwatch builds your streak. Quick activities, breaks and manual marks don't. You get four grace uses a month.

Coins come from study time: one per 3 minutes, or one per 4 minutes for quick activities. Coins aren't money.

  • Backup and restore

Your data lives on your phone. A backup can go to your own Google Drive, encrypted. Keep the recovery key somewhere that isn't that phone.

Before you restore, check the backup's date, what it covers and the restore mode.

    Backup and your data

  • Sharing and archive

Send a note to one person or a whole group as an .agsz file, with its photos, PDFs, highlights and audio pins inside; they open it in AspirantGoal and hear your explanation on each mark. Archive finished goals and subjects, and bring them back later with their notes, syllabus and history.

A round you marked complete can be reopened for 15 days.

    Sharing notes in detail

Hours show effort. Coverage shows what you finished.

Say you plan a 30-minute task and study for 10. You've used a third of its time. You've covered none of the syllabus until you mark that stage complete, and AspirantGoal shows you both numbers.

Study time comes from the timer, and pauses and breaks don't count. Coverage counts a topic once per stage, so doing a stage a second time adds to your revision history without raising it.

About the features

Which features need Pro?

Strict Mode, AG Vault and Preparation Journey are Pro, and Pro raises the media limits (PDFs up to 100MB, for example). Everything else on this page is in the free app. Pro is sold monthly, annually or for life; the pricing page has the India prices.

Does it work without internet?

You can study and record sessions offline, because your records and notes are on your phone. You need a connection to sign in, to sync your profile, or to confirm a coin redemption.

Can I use my own syllabus?

Yes. Make a custom goal and type in your topics. It plans, times and tracks the same way an exam from the list does.

Do you see my notes?

No. Notes and study history stay on your phone unless you choose an encrypted backup. Coin verification uses a few details of each session, like its length and time, and never the note. The privacy policy has the full list.

Want the reasoning behind these screens?

The guides explain how stages, rounds and coverage are counted, how a target becomes a day, and how to keep notes you can find again. Each one shows its arithmetic.
