Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AspirantGoal (Android package com.cerescanopus.aspirantgoal) is provided by Ceres Canopus Pvt Ltd (“AspirantGoal”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to the AspirantGoal Android app, aspirantgoal.com, account services, support communications and related services.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores the information you enter or create, including exam goals and phases, streams, subjects, syllabus topics and stages, schedules, targets, sessions, timer and stopwatch records, study history, notes and descriptions, attachments, audio notes, Focus and Strict Mode settings, allowed-app choices, notification choices, preferences, profile details and locally calculated progress.

This study data stays on your device unless you explicitly export it, share it, create a backup, restore it on another device, or use a feature that clearly says it will send specific information. Signing in does not automatically upload or replace your local study data. Android system backup is disabled for AspirantGoal.

3. Optional account information

You can use core local study features without an AspirantGoal cloud account. If account services are available and you choose Google sign-in, we may process:

• your Google-authenticated identity, including email address and authentication identifier;
• an optional cloud display name that remains separate from your local study profile;
• opaque registered-device identifiers, registration dates and security state used to manage account access;
• account lifecycle records, request identifiers, rate-limit records and limited security information needed to prevent abuse and safely complete sign-out or deletion;
• backup metadata such as an opaque backup ID, file ID, size, integrity hash, format version, source-device identifier and timestamps; and
• subscription or entitlement status when paid plans become available. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Google Play.

Account services are designed not to upload your notes, exam content, study history, audio, local database, backup encryption keys, Google access tokens or complete backup files to the AspirantGoal account database.

4. Backups and exports

You may create a backup file in a location you choose. If Google Drive backup is available and you enable it, AspirantGoal encrypts the backup before upload and stores it in your private Google Drive app-data area. AspirantGoal uses the limited Google Drive application-data permission rather than broad access to your Drive files. Google processes Drive and sign-in information under its own privacy terms.

You control backup creation, restore and deletion. Keep your recovery information private. Support will never ask for your password, Google token, backup encryption key or recovery phrase.

5. Permissions and special access

AspirantGoal requests access only for features you choose to use:

• Microphone: records an audio note only after you start recording.
• Notifications, alarms and vibration: deliver reminders, timer alerts and active-session notices.
• Usage access: lets Strict Focus Mode identify the foreground app on your device so it can apply the focus rule you selected.
• Display over other apps and foreground service: shows the floating timer or Strict Mode blocker while a session is active.
• Notification access and Do Not Disturb access: apply notification and interruption rules that you configure for Focus or Strict Mode.
• Installed or launchable app information: displays apps for your allowlist and checks app identities locally while Strict Mode is active.
• Files and sharing: opens or creates AspirantGoal exports and backups only when you choose a file or sharing action.
• Start after restart: restores eligible reminders after the device restarts.

Android remains the final authority for every permission. You can review or revoke access in Android Settings. Some related features will stop working if access is removed.

6. How we use information

• provide and maintain the app features you request;
• authenticate accounts and manage registered devices;
• create, locate, verify and restore backups you request;
• confirm subscription entitlements when paid plans are available;
• protect the service, prevent abuse and investigate technical failures;
• answer support messages and feature requests; and
• meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

7. Service providers and sharing

We may use service providers only to operate the functions described above, including Google services for authentication, Firebase account infrastructure and app-integrity protection, Google Drive for user-chosen backups, Google Play for distribution and future purchases, and Hostinger for website hosting. These providers process information under their own terms and our configuration of their services.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or use your study data for behavioural advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a lawful business reorganisation with appropriate safeguards.

8. Website and support information

When you visit aspirantgoal.com, our hosting provider may process routine technical logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, time and security events. The site may use essential cookies needed for security, administration and reliable operation. When you contact support, we receive the email address, message and any information you choose to include. The app does not automatically attach your study database, notes, audio, history, backup files or account information to a support message.

9. Retention

• Local data: remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app storage or uninstall the app.
• Backups: remain where you chose to save them until you delete them.
• Account data: is kept while your account is active and then deleted or de-identified after a verified deletion request, except for limited records needed for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or legal compliance.
• Support correspondence and website logs: are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain security and meet legal obligations.

10. Your choices and deletion rights

You may use AspirantGoal locally without signing in, revoke optional Android access, export or delete local records, delete backups, sign out, manage registered devices and request cloud-account deletion. Account deletion does not silently erase study data stored on your device or files stored in your Google Drive.

To request account deletion outside the app, visit aspirantgoal.com/delete-account. You may also contact help@aspirantgoal.com to ask about access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights. We may need to verify that you control the relevant account before acting.

11. Children and younger users

AspirantGoal is an exam-preparation tool and is not designed to collect personal data from children without appropriate authorisation. If you are under the age at which you may independently consent to online data processing in your location, use optional account and cloud features only with authorisation from a parent or lawful guardian. A parent or guardian may contact us to request review or deletion of a younger user’s account data.

12. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted transport, restricted access, device-bound credentials and encrypted backups where the feature is available. No system is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to applicable safeguards and law.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, law or service providers change. We will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice in the app or on this site when a change materially affects your choices.
