What the sheet covers
10 units in 1 subject, as the exam body lists them:
- General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude: 10 units
What this edition covers
This sheet follows the December 2026 documents of the National Testing Agency. UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor, appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D., and admission to Ph.D. only, in Indian universities and colleges.
What changed from the previous cycle
Within the December 2026 cycle, NTA's corrigendum of 16 October 2026 changed two lines of Chapter 3 compared with the bulletin of 08.10.2026. Para 3.5 item 5 now says answered or attempted questions are evaluated whether or not they are marked for review, and unanswered questions are not evaluated. Para 3.4(ii) now adds that UGC NET papers are bilingual in English and Hindi except language papers, and no longer carries the sentence that the option once exercised cannot be changed. The corrigendum also substitutes revised Annexures IX, X and XI (CBT procedure, Percentile Score, normalisation).
Not announced or unclear in the documents, as of 23 October 2026
A bulletin later than the Updated Information Bulletin of UGC-NET December 2026 (as on 16.10.2026): none listed on ugcnet.nta.nic.in (information bulletin page and home page) as of 2026-10-23. The 16.10.2026 version is used. An earlier version dated 08.10.2026 is also posted, and NTA's public notice of 16 October 2026 says the updated bulletin prevails if the two are inconsistent.
Using the sheet
Add the minutes after each session, leaving out pauses and breaks. Write a date in First pass finished on only when you decide that stage of that unit is done, and add a new row with Round set to 2 for a second pass. On this page you can also tick a unit when you finish its first pass: the date fills in, your ticks stay in this browser, and nothing is sent anywhere. The Excel file adds the totals for you. The full method is in A syllabus tracker that keeps minutes and finished passes apart. Passes after the first have their own sheet: the UGC NET Paper I revision tracker, with the same units and a column for each revision round.
Where the units come from
The units are copied from the documents of the National Testing Agency, which the UGC NET page lists with the date we checked each one. Checked on 23 October 2026. The exam body's current notice is the authority: syllabus units can change, so compare this sheet with it and edit what differs. AspirantGoal is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Testing Agency or any exam authority.
