What this page leaves out

Dates, fees, age limits, attempts, eligibility and cut-offs change every cycle, so this page does not repeat them. Read them in the current notice.

Notes on the documents:

  • SSC’s static scheme page for CGL (CGL.pdf) carries no cycle or date and differs from the 2026 notice: it has no Paper-III and shows the Data Entry Speed Test as part of Section-III. This page follows the 2026 notice.
  • The notice prints 25 questions and 50 maximum marks for each Tier-I subject and no Tier-I total. Marks per question are not stated in words. The Tier-II table prints sums such as 603 = 180 and 1002 = 200.
  • The Data Entry Speed Test has a dash under maximum marks in the scheme table. The notice calls it qualifying in nature and gives its error limits in para 16.2.
  • The 2026 notice has no separate Computer Proficiency Test stage. Computer Proficiency appears only as a post requirement that brings higher qualifying standards for the Computer Knowledge Test and the Data Entry Speed Test, and the notice gives no figures for them.
  • Para 16.11.2 refers to Section-III (both modules) of Paper-I, while the 2026 scheme has Section-III as the Computer Knowledge Test and the Data Entry Speed Test as Section-IV. The notice does not say what both modules refers to.
